getting excited about the trip tomorrow.  the plan is to do a short whale watching cruise (with a nifty buy one, get one free coupon), then hit up the aquarium of the pacific (got free tickets through work), tour the queen mary, and check out this local greek restaurant recommended by my coworker.  sunday  we're doing a bunch of cheesie hollywood tourist stuff: a bus tour, checking out all the crap on hollywood blvd, etc.  we wanted to do a studio tour, but apparently they're only on the weekdays (wtf?).  monday is devoted entirely to the price is right taping.  according to wikipedia, you should get in line outside the studio by 3am the day of your taping or forget it (they give out more tickets than seats in the studio).  mom's been studying the show - taping it daily and then sitting down with a paper and pen, pausing it to write what she would have bid, then writing the actual price and description of the prize.  she has a handle on everything except the cars since they vary by a couple thousand dollars from show to show (yes for the same car make/model - it all depends on which dealership is supplying it this week). she's been thinking of what prizes she'll turn down and whatnot (like a jacuzzi or a boat or particular colors of carpet).  i just hope we actually get into the taping!
