i have finally settled on a gps unit.

staples.com has it on sale for 200 bucks with free shipping. it plays mp3 and mp4s, has 3 million POIs, uses navteq maps, and comes with some accessories that garmin makes you buy separately. battery life is short compared to other players (only 3 hours), but it comes with a car charger so that shouldn't be a big deal. staples allows you to return it for any reason for a full refund within 14 days (even if opened), so if it sucks i ain't stuck with it. now they need to hurry up and ship the damn thing, i'm getting impatient over here!

i'm planning on buying a GPS in the very near future. i've been looking at the garmin c340, tomtom ONE or 510, lowrance iway 250c, or maybe a garmin nuvi 350 if i can find it cheap. i want something that will get me from point a to point b, has a touchscreen, and has a good selection of POIs. i'd be ecstatic if it spoke the street names (not just "turn in 400 ft"), had different voices to choose from, and had the ability to store favorite routes (so i don't have to ask your for address every time i visit) but these features aren't *necessities*. i'd prefer to stay around $200. garmin seems to be the popular one, but it's also the most expensive. i'm leaning towards the lowrance, but i'm still not totally sure. do any of you have one that you swear by?
